It was 26 June 1976. The people of Indian came to know through radio and newspapers that
an internal Emergency was proclaimed by the government of India. What did it mean? Why was
it imposed? What had happened the previous night? Rumors were spreading like wild fire. There
were confusions and apprehensions among the people.
